Intertech is making changes to help reduce the amount of spam email and viruses sent through our email system. The benefit of these changes should be fewer unwanted emails in your inbox each day – especially those containing dangerous content.
In order to provide these services, your accounts are being moved to a new email server. Effective at 12:00am May 15, 2006, your email client will have to be re-configured before you will be able to send or receive email.
Please try these instructions first. If you are unable to access your account after following these instructions, please contact customer service at 1-888-394-4772.
These instructions are for Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. If you are using a different client, the steps you need to take may vary.
In Outlook:
- Select Tools--> E-mail Accounts.
- Select "View or Change Existing Accounts" and click next.
- Select the account you wish to modify and click on "Change."
In Outlook Express:
- Select Tools --> Accounts
- Click on the "Mail" tab.
- Select the account you wish to modify and click on "Properties."
- Click on the "Servers" tab.
Mail Setup:
Enter the following information:
In the space marked: Incoming mail (POP3) server, enter mail.intertechcable.com
In the space marked: Outgoing mail server, enter mail.intertechcable.com
Login: email address (your full email address in the form user@intertechcable.com)
Note: DO NOT alter the password field. Your existing password should transfer automatically.
SMTP Authentication (necessary to send email):
In Outlook:
- Click on "More Settings."
- Click the "Outgoing Server" tab.
- Check the box marked "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
- Click "OK."
- Click "NEXT-->."
- Click "Finish."
In Outlook Express:
- Under "Outgoing Mail Server," check the box marked "My server requires authentication."
- Click "OK."
- Click "Close."
- Repeat this process for each email account.
Webmail Access:
If you need to access your email account using webmail:
- Point your browser to: http://www.intertechcable.com/mail
- Enter the following information:
- In the space marked: Login, enter your email address (your full email address in the form user@intertechcable.com)
- In the space marked: Password, enter your password.
